Welding and cutting safety course with DC-3 certificate (NOM-027-STPS-2008)
Course for welders, helpers and supervisors who perform or authorize welding and cutting work, aligned with NOM-027-STPS-2008. Each participant receives a DC-3 certificate issued by SICSSOM as an external training agent registered with the STPS. It is delivered as a closed group for your company: live online, at your facilities or at our offices. Soon you will also be able to take it as a recorded course, at your own pace.
Who is it for?
- Arc, oxyacetylene and oxy-fuel cutting welders and helpers.
- Maintenance staff who perform hot work.
- Supervisors who authorize and oversee welding and cutting, and fire watches.
Your staff weld and cut without causing fires or injuries: with the area prepared, the equipment in good condition, the right protection and the proper authorization, in line with NOM-027-STPS-2008.
Why a dedicated course
NOM-027-STPS-2008 sets the safety and hygiene conditions for welding and cutting and requires training for the staff who perform it. The DC-3 certificate is the evidence the authority reviews.

Yes. SICSSOM is an external training agent registered with the STPS (SSC-190417-RV8-0013) and the certificate is valid nationwide.
How many people can take it?
From 1 participant, with no fixed limit: we serve groups of whatever size your company needs. In hands-on courses we split the staff into groups so everyone practices; the proposal states how the course will be organized.
Where is it delivered?
As a closed group for your company, at your facilities or at our offices, adapted to your procedures and equipment. It can also be taken live online.
How far in advance should I book?
From 24 hours in advance, subject to calendar availability. If you have a deadline, mention it in your quote request.
How long is the course?
The duration is tailored to your group: it depends on the number of participants, their experience and the practice your operation requires. The proposal states the duration and schedule for your group.
How does the online course work?
It is a live video session with the instructor, not a recorded video. At the end, each participant takes an assessment exam and, if they pass, receives their DC-3 certificate.
How do I receive the certificates?
In digital format, with a QR code to verify SICSSOM’s registration with the STPS.
Can I take the recorded course if I don’t work for a company?
Yes: once the recorded version opens, very soon, you will be able to take it anyway. The STPS only allows a DC-3 to be issued with an employer’s details (legal name and RFC), so in your case, once you pass the exam, you receive a SICSSOM certificate of participation. It covers the same syllabus and the same assessment, includes a verification QR code and serves as proof of the training you completed.
